The treasures keep coming with the updates to Hyperforce from Summer 23 and Winter 24 releases. New with Summer 23 and Winter 24 releases:
- Create Event Relays on Your Hyperforce Instance
- Hyperforce Assistant
- Salesforce Object ID is refined to use 3 characters for Server IDs ( Release Update)
Create Event Relays on Your Hyperforce Instance
Event Relays send platform events and change data capture events from Salesforce to Amazon Web Services (AWS). It’s a simpler way to connect Salesforce and AWS with Events and it gives customers the ability to extend Salesforce functionality to the custom apps and services built in AWS. Before Event Relay, customers needed to use middleware or write custom code using Salesforce APIs. Now in Hyperforce as of Winter 24 Salesforce users can create event relays in a Salesforce org that’s hosted on Hyperforce.
Hyperforce Assistant
Also new in Winter 24 Hyperforce Assistant can help to migrate your org to Hyperforce which can be found in Setup and is available in Lightning experience for all editions.
It’s very similar to Lightning Implementation Assistant and provides a step-by-step guide to move to Hyperforce.
The Learn tab has information about Hyperforce benefits and a map of existing regions.
The Prepare tab has a check that reports on all Apex classes that have hard-coded URLs and a link to a Help article about updating hard-coded URLs; Checking the connectivity of the new Hyperforce instance; checking for enhanced domains being enabled; checking for allowed required domains ( not IP addresses); and updating Marketing Cloud endpoints.
The Upgrade tab will provide information to customers who are scheduled for org migrations with the upgrade date and the org’s new region.
Skull and Crossbones: Feature Warnings ☠️
If your users or server access is controlled through IP addresses this would need to be updated to allow the domains instead. The IP addresses would possibly break in Hyperforce and cause connectivity issues.
The newly introduced changes to object IDs may have some Salesforce adventurers looking at their maps upside down. Before, Salesforce objects had a 2 character Server ID as the 4th and 5th character in their corresponding Salesforce ID (15-18 character ids). Salesforce now generates three-character Server IDs, which are the 4th, 5th, and 6th characters in the Object ID. So when matching salesforce Object IDs watch for these changes. Developers that created code or test classes that checked for the 4th and 5th character will need to update their code to check for the 4th, 5th and 6th character to avoid test classes failures.
