Hoist the sails treasure hunters. Were taking a quick trip to San Francisco for the most anticipated event in all of the Salesforce ecosystem, Dreamforce 24.
I have had the opportunity to attend in previous years so I thought it would be good to share some tips that I have found helpful.
Build your schedule first
It may be overwhelming with all the sessions in the agenda builder but the best thing to do pre-event is to plan out at least one session and one keynote that you want to attend for each day of the conference. I know you may think one keynote and one session seems like too little. But with all the other activities outside of the sessions its important to keep your schedule light but focused so you can still engage with some of the activities that are going on outside of the sessions and attend the ones you really want to attend.
Network, Network, Network
Have your business cards ready because you are going to be meeting a lot of people. Even an introvert like myself can find myself getting engaged with the Dreamforce activities and meeting new people. There are going to be many opportunities to talk with Salesforce product team members, experts in your industry, or your peers in the analyst, admin, developer or executive world.
Bring comfortable shoes and clothes
Dreamforce dress code is generally business casual but you will find people dressed up (full business suit) and dressed down ( Hawaiian shirts and shorts). I would say if your going there with your company its probably best to think jeans/slacks/skirts and a polo or nice shirt. Its most important thought to have your most comfortable shoes (think nice new sneakers). Gals, you too should ditch the heels because you will be hating yourself with the amount of walking you need to do.
AI and Data Cloud
Try to focus your schedules on the newest in either AI or Data Cloud as these are going to be the newest features from Salesforce and probably what your teams will want to hear about when you share your experiences. Agentforce, a system designed to integrate artificial intelligence into daily workflows, is the big feature that Salesforce has announced so far for this Dreamforce. Einstein Copilot will also debut, providing real-time insights tailored to user needs. Additionally, the Data Cloud will be another hot topic that will help companies enhance data management and accessibility, enabling organizations to harness their data for maximum effectiveness.
Dreamforce 24 is Virtual Too
For those unable to attend in person, Dreamforce offers virtual attendance options. This format allows participants to engage with key sessions and workshops via live streaming. Participants can access the content on their devices from anywhere around the world. And that also means that you can probably access that sessions that you couldnt make it to later on at home after Dreamforce. Make a note of those in your agenda builder that are virtual and prioritize the sessions that are not going to be recorded and shared later.

My extra tip is to remember you’re there at a world famous conference with lots of other like-minded Salesforce people. So take some time out to enjoy the event and get some Salesforce swag!
